With the frame of your 1974 Harley Davidson Sportster being 5-5/12 inches wide you will need the B&W Biker Bar # BWMC2303. This bar will fit on frame tube diameters from 1-1/4 inches to 1-3/8 inches and on frame widths from 4-1/2 to 7 inches. Drilling is required to bolt plate to the trailer floor.

I have a solution for you. While we do not carry a license plate that fits exactly with your 7 inch x 4 inch dimensions, we do carry the Neo Motorcycle License Plate Frame - Black # CR77050. The license plate frame has inner dimensions of 6-5/8 inches wide x 3-5/8 inches tall. While this plate frame will definitely cut off some of your plate, it hopefully will not cut off the lettering.
